Provincial Drug Administration Investigates Medical Dressing Industry in Shanxi and Shandong

Wang Ling, Deputy Director of the Provincial Drug Administration, recently led a team to conduct special investigations on the development of the medical dressing industry in Shanxi and Shandong provinces. The aim of the investigation was to promote the high-quality development of the medical device industry in the province and optimize the review and approval process for medical dressing products.

From June 25 to 27, Wang Ling and his team visited the Shanxi Provincial Drug Administration and the Shandong Provincial Drug Administration to discuss relevant standards, inspection and testing procedures, product classification, technical review, and administrative approval of medical dressings containing recombinant collagen and sodium hyaluronate. The discussions with these regulatory bodies focused on improving the processes for reviewing and approving medical dressings in order to ensure quality and safety.

In addition to these discussions, the research team also visited two prominent companies in the medical dressing industry. They conducted on-site investigations at Shanxi Jinbo Biomedicine Co., Ltd. and Bloomage Biotechnology Co., Ltd., examining their research and development centers, production workshops, and quality control departments. These visits provided valuable insights into the companies’ development histories, innovation in research and development, product quality control, and quality system management.

During the investigation, Wang Ling emphasized the need for Guangdong province to learn from the advanced practices and experiences of Shanxi and Shandong in reviewing and approving medical dressings. He stressed the importance of scientifically grasping the review standards for medical dressings containing recombinant collagen and sodium hyaluronate, and urged for an acceleration of high-quality industrial development.
