Banca Carige announced that it has appointed the legal advisor to the Gianni & Origoni firm to support the Ligurian institute in the management of the data room at the service of due diligence aimed at defining a potential acquisition contract by the Bper Banca Group, of the controlling interest held by the Interbank Deposit Protection Fund (‘Fitd’). The team of the law firm that will work alongside the bank will be led by the lawyer Antonio Segni.
Last Friday, the news arrived that the data room was made accessible to serve the due diligence aimed at defining a potential acquisition agreement by Bper of the controlling interest held by Fitd (directly and on behalf of the Voluntary Scheme of Fitd intervention) and equal to 79.992% of the share capital of Carige. “Access to the data room – for the period of exclusivity granted by Fitd following the non-binding offer presented by Bper – is governed by a confidentiality agreement in place between the interested parties and will take place in any case in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations “, indicated the note.
