Purchases on Enel shares are back, which today ranks among the best in the Ftse Mib with + 1.7% in the € 6.765 area. The largest utility in Piazza Affari benefits both from the retracement of rates with the yield of the ten-year BTP which today fell to around 0.8% (7% below the levels reached on the eve) and from the positive opinion of Barclays which confirmed the overweight on Enel with target price filed at € 9.8, which is 45 per cent above the levels at which the stock is traveling. In general, the positive opinions on Enel dominate among analysts with 82.8% of those monitored by Bloomberg having a buy recommendation, 6.9% say hold (keep) and only 10.3% sell (sell ) on what is the most important action of the whole Piazza Affari. The average target price among analysts is € 8.97, or 32% above current prices. The most optimistic are Goldman Sachs analysts with a target price of 11.5 euros, with over + 70% potential upside. At current levels, Enel has a substantial dividend yield of 5.4%.
In September, Enel was the worst performer of the entire Ftse Mib with a balance of -13.8% and prices slipped to their lows since May 2020. Since the beginning of the year, Enel has lost around 19%, significantly underperforming compared to -7% of the Euro Stoxx Utilities.
