The smart totems, thanks to which it will be possible, also arrive in Genoa access on public transport by paying with cards contactless credit (or debit or debit card). The initiative started thanks to an agreement between Amt (the urban mobility company) and Visa. Genoa is the 21st city in Italy where contactless access to public transport is possible. Before the Ligurian capital, Milan, Rome, Florence, Brescia, Turin, Bari, Bologna, Bergamo, Varese, Parma, Carpi, Sassuolo, Ravenna, Padua, Rimini, Modena, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Forlì, Cesena arrived.
The holders of payment cards, Italians and Satraniers, will be able to purchase travel tickets (which will remain intangible but can be checked on board by the Amt person, using some of the numbers of the card used to purchase them) and access urban mobility services in contactless, simply by placing your card or an enabled device near the dedicated totems.
Ten stops with the totem poles
Instant lane access, that is Ila, is the acronym of the new experimental project of Amt and Visa. The experimentation foresees, in this first phase, 10 stops of the Genoese urban network equipped with totems
The system provides the possibility for the customer to access the services of the Amt network in contactless mode, without having to purchase a physical ticket, and to benefit from the proposals of best fares (the best possible rate, calculated based on the duration of the trip and the number of travelers) both single and multi-passenger, with the use of a single payment card, up to four people.
Dedicated rates
In this way, for the first time in Italy, the system offers users the possibility to access, through their contactless payment tool, to rates dedicated to groupssuch as the 24-hour ticket for 4 people or the rate dedicated to the Volabus for 3 people.
