A certain level of social solitude together with a perception of isolation, a particularly widespread condition on the Western side, generate an existential state that Durkheimalready at the end of the 19th century identified it as anomie, understood as the absence of social norms.
For the French sociologist, individuals are also the product of complex forces (functionalism) hence the pre-eminence of collective reality (society) over individual peculiarities; today by complex forces we must understand political ones, far and distant from individual freedoms, from the needs of the person, from happiness and affliction, from utopias and from reality which cannot be reported nor coincide with the mediocrity of a domestic politics and with pretension and the inconclusiveness of a continental political aporia.
Ineffectiveness and intellectual vulgarity, as described by José Ortega y Gasset in the 1920s, pervades European politics in which the latter, as an omnipresent presumption, obscures and fades the inabilities, exalting the vainglory and megalomania of those who allow people to believe in the omnipotence of political action.

Examples of this are the alleged fight against drug consumption and the losing fight against femicide. Evidence and intelligibility of results and numbers save us from prolonging ourselves, leaving space and time for considerations and reasoning on actual realities not rewarded by the lights of political correctness, of the complacent press campaigns, of the universal chatter of “that’s what everyone says and does”.

But politics, evidently, stuck in political jargon and demagogic chatter, is not at all projected towards a concrete, substantial social change, and then, the pro-Europeans in Brussels of our elders don’t care absolutely anything. They are a burden on social security, sometimes a burden on the families themselves, always a burden on the welfare state. In fact, if the Gauls sacrificed men of particularly advanced age to Mercury, it is equally true that modernism sacrifices old age to the silence of solitude.
And what about the conditions of the prisons? Of people’s detention, in other words of their lives? Here, yes, there is some functional interest in the political struggle to be understood as a work to win consensus. In fact, the crux of the interest is reduced for the Right to privileging conditions, interests and visions of the prison structure, for the Left to winking at the prisoners as such. Domestic politics and pro-Europeans care nothing about the living conditions, the suffering, the hopes, the crumbling structures, the discomfort of the agents.

The factors, in fact, are not in these terms because the centrality of the interest is not for the person and his well-being but for priorities identified in relation to the ability to generate external consensus

Yet, in the meantime, we could start by strengthening the structures and its staff. But this seems particularly complex both for our politics and for the pro-European.
On the contrary, the school has enjoyed dozens of mini reforms, many not at all significant, to the benefit of each Minister of Education in order to enhance their surname in the ministerial annals. The last one, Valditara will be remembered for the consistency of its insignificant measures chasing every news story with the hiring of experts of every type and nature to the detriment of the teachers themselves. Bullying incidents? Sociologists and Social Workers go go go, feminicides? Schools packed with experts in emotional, sexual, sentimental and any other education. It’s true, we are in progress, everything is modernizing, it is enriched, everything is inclusive and in this the Catholic Church is now at the forefront, unfortunately with fewer and fewer faithful and even fewer priests. Christianity is moribund but political messianism is bursting, the language has become correct, the presence on the scene is constant, we could continue for a long time, but what would be the point?
