Germany, the IFO index worse even in October: it drops to 97.7 points

Economic conditions in Germany are also deteriorating in October, according to the latest survey conducted by the IFO Institute. The IFO index stood at 97.7 points from 98.9 in September (revised figure from 98.8) and was also below the consensus which estimated a drop of up to 97.9 points. The index on current conditions also worsened, reaching 100.1 points from the previous 100.4 points, exceeding the 99.4 expected by analysts. Finally, the sub-index relating to expectations fell, reaching 95.4 points from the previous 97.4 points, below the 96.4 points estimated by the market.
