The highly anticipated launch of Xiaomi Motors’ SU7 has been marked by speculation and leaks regarding the different configuration versions of the electric sedan. On March 25, the first Xiaomi Motors stores opened their doors, showcasing the SU7 product lineup. Two initial versions were introduced, the standard version and the MAX version, with the possibility of more configurations to be announced at a later press conference.
However, on March 28, a domestic APP revealed what seemed to be a more detailed look at the SU7 lineup, consisting of four versions: regular, Pro, Max, and Founders Edition limited edition. Discrepancies in motor power, battery capacity, and driving range were noted among the different models, suggesting a diverse range of options for potential buyers.
The two low-end models, regular and Pro, feature rear-mounted single motors with varying power and torque levels, as well as differences in battery capacity and driving range. Meanwhile, the high-end Max version and Founders Edition limited edition boast dual-motor four-wheel drive systems, offering high performance and longer driving ranges.
In addition to the technical specifications, the pricing of the Xiaomi SU7 has attracted significant attention, with founder Lei Jun hinting at a higher price point due to the advanced features and components included in the vehicle. Industry experts speculate on two potential pricing strategies, one aiming for a lower starting price to remain competitive, and the other setting a higher initial price to capitalize on Xiaomi’s brand value and limited production capacity.
As Xiaomi Motors prepares to announce the official price of the SU7, the industry is abuzz with anticipation and debate over the potential positioning of the electric sedan in the market. With Xiaomi’s strong brand presence and technological edge, the SU7 is expected to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle sector.
