Istat: trade balance slightly down to 5,190 million in March

In March 2021, Istat estimates a cyclical growth for trade flows with foreign countries, more intense for imports (+ 6.0%) than for exports (+ 3.2%). The monthly increase in exports is due to the increase in sales both to the EU area (+ 3.7%) and to non-EU markets (+ 2.6%).

In the first quarter of 2021, compared to the previous one, exports increased by 2.6%, imports by 5.0%. The estimated trade balance in March 2021 is equal to +5,190 million euros (it was +5,701 to March 2020). Net of energy products, the balance is equal to +7.984 million (it was +7.707 in March of last year)
