A new chapter in the sustainable transport of Iveco and Nikola has opened, with the presentation to the public of the new production plant in Ulm in Germany dedicated to Nikola TRE electric heavy trucks and ready to start production by the end of the year. “A milestone reached at record speed, with delivery made on time, as previously communicated by Iveco, the industrial vehicle brand of Cnh Industrial, and Nikola Corporation”, reads the joint press release in which it is specified that the first models Nikola TRE produced at the facility will be delivered to select customers in the United States in 2022.
In addition to the battery electric vehicle (BEV) in production, the next step of this modular heavy platform was presented to the public, namely the prototype of a fuel cell hybrid electric vehicle (Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicle, FCEV) of Nikola TRE. The next model will go into production in Ulm by the end of 2023.
