In August, Japanese household consumption spending fell by 3% on an annual basis, making it worse than the expected decline of -1.5% and confirming the weakening compared to the previous rise of 0.7%. On a monthly basis, the decline was -3.9%, compared to the estimated -2%, worse than the previous decline of 0.9%.
