Jeep showed on its social channels the final version of the Wagoneer S, its first electric model intended for the American market where it will debut by the end of 2024 and the second after the Avenger. The two images leaked online demonstrate that the series version of the car reconfirms the main characteristics of the concept shown by Jeep in 2022 and how it was also influenced by a Range Rover model, the Velar, one of its competitors.
It is built on the STLA Lange platform
The Jeep Wagoneer S, in addition to using the STLA Lange platform by Stellantis which is appreciated for its elegant as well as bold line, confirms the 7 slits of all Jeeps to which the backlighting must be added which, although having only an aesthetic function, characterizes the front. The 800 Volt electric powertrain for around 600 hp
The new Wagoneer S, 490 cm long, features the best of Jeep’s electric powertrain under the hood: the 800 Volt cut will allow four-wheel drive and a power of around 600 hp for acceleration from 0 to 100 km in 3 .5 seconds. As for the interior, no official images are yet available, but from the latest reports it seems that the philosophy is inspired by a minimalism that includes a completely flat dashboard in the wake of Tesla.
Produced in Toluca, Mexico, it will arrive in Europe
The Wagoneers S should be produced in Toluca, Mexico together with the new Recon, the model which, unlike the S, is more oriented towards hard and pure off-roading as well as the next generation of the Cherokee. After the launch in the USA, the Wagoneers will also land in Europe even if there is no certain date yet, but it will arrive as can be understood from the size of the license plate area which was designed for the wide and low ones used in the European markets.
