2023 will remain in the history of Automobili Lamborghini not only for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary and for the debut of the Revuelto, the first plug-in hybrid hypercar produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The year just ended will be remembered above all for the over 10 thousand cars delivered in 12 months, a milestone never achieved in the entire history of the company founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963.

Before going into the detail of the 10,112 deliveries by model and geographical division, it is useful to retrace the recent history of the Emilian manufacturer to understand its evolution and future developments.

In 1998 it was purchased by Audi, after the complex years from a financial point of view following the acquisition of an Indonesian group in 1994. In 2010 deliveries amounted to 1,300 units, in 2017 it reached 3,815 cars and in 2018 it was exceeded for the first time the ceiling of 5 thousand deliveries (5,750 to be precise) thanks to the start of the marketing of Urus. The birth of the high-performance SUV, supported at the time by a total investment of over 700 million euros, also marks the 100% doubling of the headquarters from 80 to 160 thousand square meters.

Returning to the record obtained in 2023, deliveries see the Urus in first place with 6,087 cars, followed by the 3,962 Huracans, the 51 Few-Offs and the 12 latest Aventadors produced. Geographically, the United States continues to be the leading market with 3,000 deliveries, followed by Germany (961), China (845), the United Kingdom (801), Japan (660), the Middle East (496), South Korea (434), Italy (409), Canada (357), Australia (263), France and Monaco (255), Switzerland (211), Taiwan (131) and India (103).

As highlighted to us by CEO Stephan Winkelmann: «2023 was a truly significant year for Automobili Lamborghini: in addition to having celebrated the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the brand, we have taken significant steps within our Cor Tauri Management strategy, with the launch of the hybrid super sports car, Revuelto, of the concept car, Lanzador and of the LMDh category racing car, SC63. The achievement of 10 thousand cars delivered represents a further step that makes the past year memorable and which leads us with pride to face the new challenges that await us in 2024″.
