Xiaomi Motors to Launch in First Half of 2024, Says Lei Jun

In a recent interview with CCTV, Lei Jun, the CEO of Kuai Technology, announced that Xiaomi Motors is expected to be launched in the first half of this year and is currently in small-scale mass production.

Lei Jun also addressed the pricing concerns, stating that the configurations of Xiaomi cars are powerful and the cost is high. He dismissed the speculations of prices such as 99,000 yuan, 149,000 yuan, or even 199,000 yuan as jokes and mentioned that the actual pricing will be announced at the Xiaomi Auto Product Launch.

Furthermore, Lei Jun emphasized the importance of Xiaomi being among the top five in the world in the smart electric vehicle industry, as he believes that only the winners will survive in this market. He highlighted the intense competition in this industry and mentioned that the board of directors approved a hefty US$10 billion to build cars as soon as the idea came up.

Despite the fierce competition, Lei Jun expressed confidence in Xiaomi’s ability to emerge victorious. He stated, “We at Xiaomi have grown from a small ‘roll’ to a large one. Although we have entered the extremely competitive automotive field, I think Xiaomi can still win in the end.”

This announcement from Lei Jun has raised anticipation for the upcoming launch of Xiaomi Motors and has also shed light on the company’s determination to succeed in the electric vehicle market.
