Lexus presents the revamped Es executive sedan at the Shanghai Motor Show, the first automotive show organized after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The luxury brand of the Toyota group, whose lead brand always unveils the first stages of the road-map of zero-emission mobility in Shanghai, refines the ES more than from a formal point of view from a substantive point of view. In fact, the renewed Es which will be marketed in Europe towards the end of the year is the result of a technological upgrading, from which only the 218 horsepower full-hybrid powertrain that integrates a 2.5-liter unit escapes. The system, in fact, has recently debuted and thanks to the latest generation electric motor powered by a very compact Nickel-Metal Hydride battery pack, the evolution of the transmission system and the advanced management of the electronic network can be considered the progenitor of the current generation of Lexus’ Full Hybrid Electric family.

The stylistic innovations proposed by the renewed Es do not upset the sleek silhouette, but externally update the outfit thanks to the new design of the mask, the newly designed and sharper optical groups than in the past based on BladeScan Ahs technology and, finally, the adoption on the higher specification versions of rear-view mirrors consisting of cameras, the footage of which is reproduced in the passenger compartment by displays placed in the door panels. To increase the driving feeling and active safety, the new Es also offers a revised braking system and the new generation of the Lexus Safety System + which uses the support of a higher percentage of Ai. The system now also integrates the cornering speed control function which decelerates the Es according to the radius of the curve itself and which works in synergy with the Radar Cruise Control, the optimization of the lane recognition and the advanced steering management. in emergency situations, to avoid abnormal reactions.
