China’s Logistics Industry Prosperity Index Continues to Improve in April
The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing announced today (7th) China’s logistics industry prosperity index in April. Changes in the index show that the prosperity level of the logistics industry continues to improve, logistics activity has increased, and the foundation for good development has been further consolidated.
China’s logistics industry prosperity index in April was 52.4%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points from the previous month. Among the sub-indexes, the total business volume index, new order index, and equipment utilization index all continued to rebound, and logistics activity increased significantly.
In April, the upstream and downstream supply chains maintained a coordinated recovery trend, and the transportation volume of energy raw materials fell slightly, but the growth rate was stable. In the manufacturing industry, the logistics demand for equipment manufacturing and transportation equipment manufacturing has been released in an orderly manner, and the logistics demand for daily fast-moving consumer goods and furniture, home appliances and durable consumer goods has achieved rapid growth.
In terms of regions, the total business volume index in the eastern and central regions both rebounded by more than 1 percentage point month-on-month; the new order index in the eastern and central regions also rebounded by more than 0.5 percentage points.
On the whole, logistics demand has rebounded steadily since April, logistics activity has increased, and the good foundation has been further consolidated.
