Italian companies “are asking for the necessary choices to be made so that this latest wave does not interrupt the ongoing recovery”, says Stefano Scabbio, southern Europe president of ManpowerGroup. And among these choices there are the obligation of the reinforced green pass at work and, where possible, smart working.

The ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey (MEOS) shows that 69% of companies believe that the vaccine must be an essential requirement in order to access the workplace. Of these, 53% believe that it should be compulsory for everyone, compared to 16% for whom it must be compulsory for some roles, but not for all. 14% of employers think it is their responsibility to promote the need for vaccination but disagree with the requirement.

From the ManpowerGroup research, the manufacturing sector is the sector with the greatest presence of companies in favor of compulsory vaccination, on a par with school and health care with 75%. Followed by banks, insurance companies and real estate (71%), Information Technology, telecommunications, media, communication, commerce and retail (69%), restaurants and hotels (59%) and construction (62%). The non-profit sector closes with 50%.

While the enhanced green certificate is considered necessary, it is not the only measure that is needed. Indeed, Scabbio observes that “another very important factor in continuing to guarantee the continuity sought is hybrid work, the mix of smart working and face-to-face work which, where possible, today allows many people to continue working with maximum safety. possible. Our survey also focused on this, which highlighted how most companies have already activated smart working or hybrid work in the areas that allow it: 57% of companies, in fact, declare that roles will be able to take advantage of smart working. of the finance and accounting, IT, administration and human resources divisions ».
