Marzotto Group launches the new Interiors brand to grow in furniture

Marzotto strengthens its presence in the field of furnishing fabrics, in which the Vicenza group has been present for some years through the Marzotto Lab division, launching the new brand Marzotto Interiors, a unique brand in which the collections produced by two companies of the group converge: Redaelli velluti (based in the Czech Republic) and Prosetex, the company from Bulciago (Lecco) acquired by Marzotto Lab last October.

“The two production lines remain separate, each with its own specialization, but the hat will be common, as is the logistic warehouse of the two companies, based in Bulciago and operational since last January”, explains the CEO of Marzotto Lab, Luca Vignaga. The goal is to provide customers (publishers and manufacturers in the furniture sector, but also operators in the contract sector) with a complete catalog proposal and an increasingly integrated and effective service, with direct control at every stage of the supply chain.

The diversification process

The debut of the new brand – presented just in these days at the Proposte fair in Cernobbio, dedicated to furnishing textiles – is the last step in the diversification strategy in the furniture sector desired by the Marzotto group. Already today the productions destined for furniture, which in addition to the Redaelli and Prosetex productions also include the collections of textile accessories made by Lanerossi, represent about 50% of the turnover of Marzotto Lab, which closed 2021 at about 120 million euros. turnover, recovering the levels of 2019. A segment in marked growth, as evidenced by the 35% increase in revenues in the furniture sector recorded last year (to 52 million) and for the Vicenza group it is investing decisively in this direction.

Reshoring of the workings

The acquisition of Prosetex allowed Marzotto to expand its offer, with an offer that includes jacquard velvets, plain velvets, jacquard fabrics in cotton, wool, linen and other fibers. It also allowed, Vignaga adds, to bring the group closer to the industrial heart of furniture, Brianza, and to bring unique production skills within it: “Thanks to the Bulciago company, we can bring back to Italy some activities that we had in the past in the Republic Czech, but even there we were no longer able to follow, because they require a very specific know-how, which we found in Prosetex “, explains the CEO of Marzotto Lab. synthetic furs, both for furniture and clothing. «It is an important step, because there is a very strong market demand for these products – says Vignaga -. The looms arrived last week in Bulciago and in the next few days we will start the new productions. In this way we will be able to offer our customers an Italian product and give continuity to this type of processing, enhancing and preserving important skills, not easy to find ».

The next steps

With a limited investment (one million in all, between the transfer of the frames and the modernization of the warehouse in Brianza), Marzotto Lab has thus started the consolidation of the new strategy, which currently does not envisage further acquisitions, but rather the consolidation of the brands. in portfolio and internal growth. The project also includes an expansion of Lanerossi productions, with the addition of textile accessories for the home (such as sheets, sponges and soon also lines for the kitchen), concludes Vignaga, who announces other important innovations for the autumn.
