Mazda, starting from 2022, plans to introduce two new SUVs on the European market: the CX-60 which should be available first and the CX-80 soon after. These are two large models that will be placed within the Mazda range above the current CX-5. They will be built on the basis of the Large Platform modular architecture, on which other high-end cars will also be designed. For the moment, however, the manufacturer has not yet provided any image except the logo of the two models. The new CX-60 and CX-80 will be available in two- and three-row seat versions, respectively, but will also be offered with new plug-in hybrids with 4-cylinder petrol engines paired with an electric unit. The range of engines will also be completed with the unprecedented in-line six-cylinder Skyactiv-X petrol unit and perhaps, but it was not entirely obvious, with the new 48 Volt mild hybrid second generation Skyactiv-D turbodiesel. Among the novelties of the Hiroshima house stands out the electric with MX-30 equipped with the range extender that is a heat engine (in this case Wankel rotary which is in the house’s DNA) which acts as an on-board generator and recharges the batteries for increase the autonomy which is only 200 kilometers.
