Carl-Clemens Veltins is demanding his share of the inheritance from his mother Rosemarie, who died in 1994, reports “Bild”. The son doubts his mother’s ability to do business when she disinherited him shortly before her death. But how did the family drama come about? The dispute has dragged on for decades. “I would actually have been entitled to a third of the company shares,” says the 61-year-old in the “Bunte” interview, “I waived all claims. This was intended to avoid the brewery having to be sold if the heirs claimed their compulsory share after the mother’s death. What son believes his mother will betray him?”
And so the inheritance was divided between the two Veltins sisters, Susanne and Frauke. Over the years, Carl-Clemens received four to five million marks. Today he feels “betrayed. This sum represents only a fraction of the value.”

After the failed attempts to reach an agreement with the sisters, things are now going to court. A spokesman for the Arnsberg regional court confirmed to Bild that the Veltins lawsuit had been received. A Veltins spokesman told the newspaper that the family traditionally does not comment on private matters.
The charges now involve a three-digit million sum. Last year alone, the Sauerland brewery achieved record sales of 441 million euros. If Carl-Clemens Veltins prevails with his lawsuit, he could collect a three-digit million sum, according to “Bild”.
