In Parliament there are those who are trying to weaken the Antitrust (Agcm), the main authority that defends the rights of Italian consumers. The European delegation law, now under discussion in the Senate, provides for the attribution of more sanctioning powers to Agcm, which would thus be able to impose penalties of up to 4% of the company’s annual turnover, to implement directive 2019/2161.
