Akhannouch explained that “Morocco, thanks to its geographical location and its renewable energy resources, aspires to become a key player in the development of the green hydrogen sector at a regional level and in accordance with the commitment with our African partners” .

The Moroccan Prime Minister recalled the various cooperation projects launched, underlining that “since 2019, Morocco and Ethiopia have created a Coalition for access to sustainable energy in order to satisfy the vital needs of the world population, in particular the inhabitants of the regions isolated areas of least developed countries and other developing countries with a strong impact on universal access to energy”. He also recalled the Nigeria/Morocco gas pipeline which will supply 11 countries along its route and will benefit more than 400 million people, strengthening the energy sovereignty of the countries concerned.
