Banca Mps closed the first half of the year with revenues of € 1.56 billion, up by 7.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, thanks above all to the increase in net commissions, amounting to € 755 million (+ 8.7%), which is the best result for the period of the last three years. On the other hand, we are witnessing a year-on-year decline in the interest margin, which fell by 9.5% to 585 million.

EBITDA amounted to € 491 million, up by 30.7%, with a second quarter contribution down by approximately € 76 million compared to the previous quarter. The net operating result was positive for approximately 327 million (the highest half-year figure of the last 5 years) against a negative value of 149 million euro recorded in the same period of the previous year. The contribution of the second quarter, equal to 124 million, is down compared to the previous quarter, which had recorded a positive value of about 203 million.

The parent company’s profit for the period amounted to 202 million, against a loss of -1,081 million achieved in the same period of 2020.
