US hip-hop star Tupac Shakur has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, almost 30 years after his death. Wednesday’s ceremony honored the rapper, who was shot dead aged just 25 after a short but spectacular career. Representing the Shakur family, the hip-hop legend’s sister, Sekyiwa ‘Set’ Shakur, attended the star’s unveiling in Los Angeles.

Representing the Shakur family, the musician’s sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, unveiled the star on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

She was “deeply honored to attend the ceremony as a representative of the Shakur family,” she said. “Tupac knew deep down that he was destined for greater things. As a little sister, I’ve had the privilege of seeing that greatness unfold.”

The rapper, whose hits include “California Love,” “Changes,” Dear Mama, and “All Eyez On Me,” has sold 75 million albums and was a key figure in the industry-driven competition between East Coast and West Coast rappers In 1996 he was shot dead on the street in Las Vegas, the background to the crime is still unclear.
