EActually, the Danes see themselves as exemplary climate fighters: Last year, 60 percent of the electricity consumed came from renewable sources, mainly wind. The country wants to be climate-neutral by 2045, five years ahead of the EU. The nature conservation organization WWF recently awarded the whole country its international climate prize. But apparently it is precisely the ambitious climate targets that are now giving many Danes food for thought – a discussion is now breaking out in the country about building new nuclear power plants.
