Oracle develops new drivers for VirtualBox to meet TPM 2.0 requirements for upgrading Windows 11-Oracle Oracle

In the newly released preview version of Windows 11 Build 22000.194, Microsoft has also increased the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 requirements for virtual machines (VM). This means that if users cannot meet this requirement, the version of Windows 11 running through virtualization will not receive subsequent version updates.

Perhaps for this, Oracle is developing a new driver implementation for VirtualBox.With the help of this driver, the new driver should be able to perform passthrough and use the host’s TPM module to overcome this new Windows 11 standard.

The VirtualBox change set number 90946, added on August 27th, lists this new change. Perhaps Oracle internally knew about the necessity of the upcoming Windows 11 TPM for virtual machines. About a few weeks later, Microsoft released the Windows 11 Build 22000.194 preview update to the Beta channel.
