by admin

«I am incredibly proud to have been appointed CEO of UniCredit. This is the culmination of my career in the banking sector, an industry in which I started at the age of 25. During this time, I have seen many aspects of the industry, both directly and through the eyes of many leaders. UniCredit has always been present as a key customer. So, in many ways, I feel like I’m coming home. ‘ Thus the new CEO of the institute in Piazza Gae Aulenti, Andrea Orcel, in a letter to the employees of the group published on the institute’s website. Andrea signed himself and reiterated that he «assumed this role because banks are stimulating, dynamic and stimulating environments in which to work. They are inspiring and, as CEO, they have an enormous personal responsibility to shape them and guide them along the right path. I know that UniCredit will be no exception ».

Orcel explains to the employees the bank he wants to build. «I accepted the position because I believe that the banking system is an integral part of the functioning of the company. Together, both as individuals and as members of a team, we have a duty to push ourselves beyond our limit of comfort to improve customer support, allowing (them, ed) to reach their goals ». Banks “do much more than just move the wheels of society. They provide opportunities ».

«My goal is to become, together with you, innovators in our field. A bank that goes beyond expectations and therefore exceeds them. This requires a change of mentality, and the ability to believe that the impossible is now possible ». The plan focuses on innovation, simplification and digital. “We will focus on reducing complexity” and finally “we need to increase the pace of digitization and adoption of new technologies.”
