The reduction of excise duties on fuels and therefore of their sale price is triggered. In fact, the ministerial decree and the decree law āUrgent measures to counter the economic and humanitarian effects of the Ukrainian crisisā containing the rules that reduce the price, which come into force from today, were published in the Official Gazette overnight.
The reduction in excise duties, and therefore in the price of fuel, will last for 30 days. But it is expected that until December 31 of this year the rates of these taxes can be redetermined without having to resort to a decree law but only with a ministerial provision. Specific rules are then introduced for product storage deposits and to avoid speculative maneuvers, with powers to the Price Guarantor and the use of the Guardia di Finanza for checks.
The decree also provides for a rule aimed at helping workers who use their own means to get to the workplace: petrol vouchers, up to 200 euros, that employers will give to their employees will not contribute to income, so they will not be taxed.
