PRISA Group Announces Construction of Dual-Brand Hilton Hotel in Puerto Rico
With an investment exceeding $77 million, development company PRISA Group has announced the construction of the first dual-brand hotel on the island, featuring Homewood Suites and Hampton, both under the Hilton brand. The complex will have a total of 257 rooms, with 125 rooms under the Homewood Suites banner and 132 rooms under the Hampton banner.
Federico Stubbe, son, CEO of PRISA Group, expressed that providing more hotel rooms in Puerto Rico, particularly in the District area, will contribute to attracting more tourists, groups, and conventions to the island. The project is being financed through Banco Popular of Puerto Rico and a $10 million loan from the Economic Development Investment Portfolio Program, managed by the Department of Housing.
The construction of this innovative project is expected to generate 301 direct jobs during the construction phase and 102 jobs in the operation phase. Governor Pedro Pierluisi highlighted the potential increase in foreign business visits to the island with the opening of the hotel, emphasizing the importance of business tourism for economic development.
The project will include the construction of a multi-story parking lot with 400 spaces for vehicles, with the hotel expected to open in the last quarter of 2026. This development represents a significant investment in Puerto Rico’s tourism and economic growth.
