Skoda Epiq concept, will use shared technologies
The genesis of the Epiq follows the same path followed years ago with the Citigo-e iV electric city car, a different twin of the Volkswagen e-Up! and the Seat Mii Electric, even if only for what concerns the technology chapter. In fact, the Epiq on the Meb Entry skateboard of the Volkswagen group, on which the future Vw Id.1 and the Cupra Raval will also be based, the Epiq will still mount a powertrain whose power has not been disclosed, the same battery capable of promising a range of 400 kilometers and will also offer bidirectional charging to transfer electricity to external devices and infrastructures.

The Epiq will fit in among the baby SUVs with a length of 4.10 meters and with a line that will separate itself from any other relative and that will also pave the way for the brand’s next cars. The appearance is defined by a minimalist design, but which does not fail to highlight the muscularity that is expected even from a small SUV with the features of the new family style, the sculpted bonnet, the T-shaped shape of the luminous signatures that they outline the front and tail and the consistency of the bumper shields, as well as with the inevitable lower and side protections of the bodywork. The new stylistic chapter will also retire the brand logo on the bodywork, replaced by the Skoda lettering both on the front and on the tailgate.

The presentation of the passenger compartment is also characterized by a minimalist design. In the environment it is configured with five seats and furnished following what was anticipated by recent concepts of the brand. The essential linearity of the dashboard stands out, which supports a small display for the instruments and the central one for the infotainment, under which there are some physical switches for the on-board functions, the practicality of which is increasingly re-evaluated because it is rewarding for ergonomics in a period in which the Tesla philosophy drowns even the most frequently used controls in the infotainment displays. Even on the steering wheel there are physical buttons to avoid involuntary operations, which are very frequent with touch ones. The central console, without a gear lever, houses large storage compartments and charging plates for smartphones. Despite its external dimensions, the Epiq will offer a boot with a minimum capacity of 490 litres.
