Start up, more than 3 thousand new companies since the beginning of 2021

by admin

Already more than 3 thousand since the beginning of the year, in just eight months. The acceleration of start-ups also continues in 2021, a year that will almost certainly beat the previous record. Made, surprisingly, in the hardest year in Italy since the war. Thus, with the latest entries at the beginning of September, the number of start-ups included in the register of chambers of commerce exceeds the threshold of 14 thousand units, with a step of almost 400 new admissions per month: from the beginning of the year, also taking into account on Saturdays and Sundays, it is in fact more than 12 initiatives a day.

If in the first eight months of 2020, due not only to the overall disorientation but also to the administrative closures imposed by the Covid emergency, the new registrations had been just over 2000, in the same period of 2021 the growth is therefore in the order of 50 %. Progress that is already grafted on to a high value, taking into account that 2020, despite all predictions, was still a record year. Development facilitated in part by the modalities of insertion in the special register of the Chambers of Commerce, also accessible online (and without the participation of a notary), thanks to a regulation that has now however been questioned by a sentence of the Council of State, in acceptance of an appeal by the National Council of Notaries. However, the growth trend of new businesses does not reverse.

Almost 600 new registrations in Milan alone

The leader in terms of innovation once again in geographical terms is Lombardy, thanks in particular to the tow of Milan, alone responsible this year for almost 600 registrations, 19% of the total Italy.

In second place is always Rome, albeit at a great distance: in the capital 379 start-ups were registered in the first eight months. Numbers are also growing in the South, as evidenced by the 136 additional activities in Naples and the 93 in Bari. This brings the Apulian capital close to the fifth absolute position among the provinces, just 20 units from Bologna.

Funds available and desire to propose new ideas

“To push the numbers throughout Italy – explains the president of InnovUp Angelo Coletta – I see two phenomena: on the one hand the activity of Cdp with new funds in support of innovation, on the other a renewed desire to propose ideas and novelties, a reaction that to a certain extent is typical of a phase following a great crisis such as the one we have gone through. In general, then, the optimism generated by the arrival of European funds represents an additional stimulus for the launch of new activities, which often cross precisely the themes of digitization and sustainability ».
