State Administration of Foreign Exchange: Add 10.3 billion U.S. dollars to QDII quota

Recently, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange launched a new round of QDII quota issuance. A total of US$10.3 billion QDII quotas were issued to 17 institutions, covering all major types of financial institutions such as funds, securities, banks, and insurance. After the issuance of this round of quotas, the SAFE has approved a cumulative investment quota of US$147.319 billion for 173 QDII institutions.

The QDII system is an important mechanism for the opening of my country’s capital market. my country implemented the QDII system in 2006. Since its implementation, this system has played an active role in promoting the two-way opening of my country’s finance, broadening investment channels for domestic residents, and cultivating the business development of domestic financial institutions. The person in charge of the relevant department of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange stated that since September last year, the foreign exchange bureau has been adhering to the principles of fairness, fairness, and uniformity to issue QDII quotas on a regular and regular basis. Before this round of quota issuance, it has issued six rounds of QDII quotas. Since the beginning of this year, cross-border funds under QDII have flowed out in an orderly manner, and various institutions, especially fund companies, have launched public offerings one after another, which better meets the growing demand for foreign investment from domestic residents.
