Stellantis on tap with four platforms for all sizes

by admin

Twenty-one models electrified within the next 2 years. This is the goal of the Stellantis group, born in January from the merger between FCA and PSA.

The upcoming models will feature plug-in hybrid (Phev) and battery-electric (Bev) technology, targeting 9 of the group’s 14 brands. At the base of these innovations, the platforms which, in detail, will be: Stla Small, with an autonomy of up to 500 km; Stla Medium, with a range of up to 700 km; Stla Large, with a range of up to 800 km; Stla Frame, with a range of over 800 km. The propulsion will be entrusted to a family of three electric drive modules (Edm) that will combine the motor, gearbox and inverter. These Edm are easily scalable and can be configured for front, rear, all-wheel drive and 4xe. An over-the-air hardware upgrade and software upgrade program will extend the life of platforms into the next decade.

Ds is the greenest brand and has recently announced that from 2024 the cars presented will only be 100% electric and, remember, at the moment all models are already available with an electric or electrified variant. But in 2024, in addition to the arrival of the electric Ds4 e-Tense, it will also be the time for the debut of a new Stla Medium platform.

Remaining in France, Citroën expects the arrival of three electric models starting from 2021 and a hybrid Phev in 2022. Among these must certainly be included the new flagship C5 X in the plug-in variant, in addition to the now imminent C5 Aircross Phev of recently renewed, to which we should add the new generation C3 which could also be available in Bev version like the Peugeot e-208 and Opel Corsa-e sisters.

Opel & Vauxhall will have a full electric range by 2028, so the launch of a Bev model by the end of 2021 and the two Phev launches for 2022 are not the only ones planned for the future.
