Celina Rewel and Toni Lösche opened their own Etsy shop in 2021 and quit their jobs shortly afterwards. They are now turning over millions on the platform.

In an interview with Business Insider, Rewel and Lösche revealed how Etsy will still be worthwhile for sellers in 2024 – and whether, in their view, Etsy is still suitable as additional income.

Like many other online trading platforms, the Etsy sales platform has boomed during the pandemic. The number of users skyrocketed, as did the number of sellers. The latter also included Toni Lösche and Celina Rewel, the founders and managing directors of the Etsy shop Wunderwunsch. They have now built a small online shop empire, are turning over millions – and have tips for aspiring Etsy sellers.

Their core business is personalized children’s gifts – breakfast boards or bedside lights, for example with engraved animals and names. They no longer only sell them on Etsy, but also via Amazon and their own online shop. They have also opened five other Etsy shops over time, where they also engrave and personalize doormats, wooden tools and make-up bags.

Rewel and Lösche hit a nerve with their first shop: after just three months they were making five-figure sales and then continued to grow. After just five months, they founded their own GmbH and made Etsy their main job. In 2023 they had annual sales of around eight million euros. They also gave Business Insider tips for aspiring sellers.
