The confectionery manufacturer Haribo is currently not delivering any products to the discounter Lidl, according to a report by “Wirtschaftswoche”.

Conflicts over delivery conditions are normal in the consumer goods trade, but have intensified with inflation.

The Gold Bears of Haribo are known to bring joy to both children and adults. At Lidl However, the fans of gummy bears will soon lose this joy: The discounters will no longer be supplied with the confectionery manufacturer’s products for the time being.

Inflation drives disputes over delivery terms

In the current dispute between Haribo and Lidl plays the Inflation an important role. Haribo’s spokesman justified the price increases with the company’s higher production costs. The prices for Logistics and raw materials have increased enormously. But the confectionery manufacturer doesn’t have to worry. The “Wirtschaftswoche” quotes industry insiders who report that Haribo has grown strongly in the past year, so that one can get over the fact that Lidl is not available as a customer until further notice.
