Ministry of Commerce Promotes Consumption Promotion Activities

These measures include organizing a series of consumption promotion activities to encourage the replacement of old cars and home appliances with new ones, promoting “national trend” consumption, optimizing the consumption environment, and stimulating consumption from post-epidemic recovery to continued expansion.

In an effort to promote the “continuous expansion” of consumption, China will be holding various consumption promotion activities throughout the year to create a strong consumption atmosphere and provide residents with a more diverse and richer consumption experience. These activities will be tied to traditional festivals, public holidays, and peak consumption seasons, as well as highlighting local characteristics in different regions. The Ministry of Commerce aims to guide and support localities in exploring their own advantages, combining local characteristics and folk customs, and cultivating iconic event brands.

Both cars and home appliances hold an important position in consumption, and the Ministry of Commerce aims to promote the trade-in of these items in order to stimulate consumption. With the automobile and home appliance markets transitioning from a pure “incremental era” to an “incremental and inventory-focused era,” there is great demand and potential for replacement. The Ministry of Commerce will focus on supporting and guiding the replacement of old cars and home appliances, breaking through difficulties and blockages, stabilizing and expanding traditional consumption, and better meeting the needs for replacement and upgrading of consumer goods.

In addition, the Ministry of Commerce will be holding activities such as the “Time-honored Brand Carnival” and the “Time-honored Brand Digital Museum” to promote the protection, inheritance, and innovative development of time-honored brands, with the aim of laying a solid cultural and commercial foundation for the consumption of “trendy” domestic products.
