Despite the impact of factors such as rising prices of raw materials for power batteries, new car-making forces continued to make great strides in March, and the monthly delivery volume of many companies reached a new high.

In March, the delivery volume of Xiaopeng Motors exceeded 15,000 units and won the monthly sales champion again. The delivery volume of Nezha vehicles exceeded 12,000 units and won the runner-up. The delivery volume of ideal cars was 11,000 units, ranking third. In addition, following the “Wei Xiaoli”, Leap Motor’s March delivery volume also exceeded 10,000 units, ranking among the top four monthly sales of new forces for the first time, while Weilai delivered less than 10,000 units in March, and it is still in the process of building cars. The new force ranked fifth in the March sales list.

Specifically, Xpeng Motors, which ranked first, delivered 15,400 vehicles in March, an increase of 148% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 202%. Xiaopeng Motors said that despite the challenges of the epidemic and the supply chain, the cumulative delivery of Xiaopeng Motors in the first quarter still reached 34,600 units, 2.6 times that of the same period last year, and once again exceeded the upper limit of the financial report guidance.

Xiaopeng Motors was able to win the monthly sales crown again, mainly due to the increase in sales of the P7. Sales of the model hit an all-time high of 9,183 in March. There is a view that the lithium iron phosphate battery models with a starting price reduced by 20,000 yuan have driven the growth of P7 sales to a certain extent.

In the face of the current rise in power battery raw material prices, Xiaopeng Motors revealed that it is trying to control the battery cost problem caused by rising raw material prices by communicating with major power battery suppliers while ensuring supply.

On January 1 this year, Nezha Auto announced a price increase of 2,000-5,000 yuan for Nezha V and Nezha U Pro. However, judging from the delivery volume in March, the price increase did not adversely affect the sales of Nezha cars. In March, the Nezha V series delivered 8,122 vehicles, a record high and a year-on-year increase of 153%; the Nezha U Pro delivered 3,904 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 9,660%.

In addition, Nezha Auto’s first pure electric sedan, Nezha S, has entered the trial production verification stage in March, or will start pre-sale in April, and will be officially launched within this year, with an estimated price of around 300,000 yuan. This new car will become a new growth point for the delivery of Nezha cars.

In March, Li Auto delivered 11,000 Lili ONEs, a year-on-year increase of 125.2%; in the first quarter, the delivery volume reached 31,700 units, a year-on-year increase of 152.1%. Since its launch, the cumulative delivery of Ideal ONE has reached 155,800 units.

Affected by the continuous sharp rise of upstream raw materials, Ideal ONE has adjusted its price since April 1. The national unified retail price has been raised from the previous 338,000 yuan to 349,800 yuan, an increase of 11,800 yuan.

Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of Ideal Motors, said: “Due to the impact of the epidemic in the Yangtze River Delta, the shortage of some parts and components has affected production. We are taking more measures to ensure the supply of parts and components, ensure production as much as possible, and shorten the production time. Ideal ONE user’s waiting period for car pickup.”

For the first time in March, Leapmotor achieved a monthly delivery of over 10,000 vehicles, with a monthly delivery of about 10,100 vehicles, a month-on-month increase of 193%. It is understood that in the current sales structure of Leapmotor, the sales volume of the A00 class car T03 is relatively large, and the SUV model C11 model has also begun to gradually increase.

NIO’s deliveries in March improved compared to February, reaching 9,985 units, a year-on-year increase of 37.6%, but still not as good as Xpeng Motors and Li Auto. In addition to the new car-making forces, the new energy vehicles of traditional car companies also performed very well in March. It is understood that in terms of supply chain, after multiple rounds of communication with Weibak, the exclusive production line for Jikr 001 air suspension parts has been put into production, and the overall production and delivery of Jikr 001 will continue to improve. At the end of this month, a new batch of core components is about to arrive, and the production and delivery of Ji Krypton in April will be improved.

Some people believe that the price increase of products has obviously consumed part of the demand for new energy vehicles in advance, and the factors of insufficient production capacity and early release of orders caused by the epidemic in March and April are superimposed.
