The A-share market in China saw fluctuations and rebounds throughout the day, with the GEM index leading the gains. In terms of sector performance, Hongmeng concept stocks strengthened, along with new energy stocks such as lithium batteries and flying car concept stocks during the trading session.
At the close, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Index rose 0.31%, the Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.47%, and the ChiNext Index rose 1.95%. The turnover of the market was 712.1 billion, indicating an increase of 65.1 billion from the previous trading day.
Three major benefits emerged in the A-share market including the approval of housing rental group purchase loans, the completion of a private equity institution’s registration, and northbound funds’ net purchases of over 4.2 billion yuan throughout the day.
Hongmeng Concept and the new energy vehicle industry chain were the two major hot spots in the market. The Hongmeng concept sector surged by more than 6%, while flying car concept stocks rose sharply due to the unveiling of new flying car models.
Another significant development in A-shares is the official media’s issuance of a commentary on the delisting system. The commentary pointed out the need to strengthen delisting supervision and protect the interests of investors in the A-share market.
Looking ahead, analysts predict that A-shares may “rise before falling” in 2024. They anticipate that the market will recover in an “N-shaped” manner, starting with fiscal policy shifting from “accumulation” to “effort” and the potential for a bull market to begin in the fourth quarter.
