Twitter: failure to respect personal data, fine of 150 million dollars. But Musk increases the personal offering

Twitter will pay a fine of 150 million dollars for non-compliance with users’ personal data between 2013 and 2019. The US Ministry of Justice has made it known: the agreement signed with the company also includes an obligation for the social network to respect the confidentiality of personal information. Authorities accuse Twitter of hiding from its users that it disseminated the data to allow companies to send targeted advertisements.

The news does not seem to have worried Elon Musk too much, who increased the direct commitment made available with his partners for the purchase of the social giant to 33.5 billion dollars. This is what emerges from a document filed with the Fed which reduces the amount borrowed from banks to 13 billion dollars.
The news seems to drive away the rumors of a disengagement from the 44 billion dollar operation of the Tesla owner, after the doubts expressed by the same entrepreneur of South African origin on the number of fake profiles on the social network. Musk has also initiated a series of talks with other Twitter shareholders, including founder Jack Dorsey, so that they can help finance the deal or round up their equity stakes.
