The future Volkswagen ID electric sedan will have a range of around 700 kilometers. Based on the ID Vizzion concept car presented at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, it will most likely go on sale by 2023. Featuring an interior space comparable to the flagship Phaeton, the Volkswagen “cousin” of the Audi A8, it will be able to drive about 700 km on a single charge thanks to the combination of a larger battery than the current 84 kWh, aerodynamic efficiency and weight reduction.
New Volkswagen ID6
As revealed by the German engineers at Automotive News Europe, the car is still under development but some features are already established such as the range at 700 kilometers. As for the name, the ID6 could be chosen, although Volkswagen is considering a new family of names for its electric range globally.

Volkswagen Aero-B
For now the chosen project name is Volkswagen Aero-B, by virtue of the utmost attention to aerodynamics. On the charging front, the new electric midsize sedan should be able to charge up to a maximum capacity of 200 kilowatts. This means that 10 minutes in a fast charging station would lead to 230 km of autonomy. The new car will most likely be built on the modular Meb platform, the starting point for all the new electric models of the group, pending the arrival of the future Trinity platform.
Volkswagen ID6, technical sheet
According to recent rumors, the new Volkswagen ID6 will have two power levels starting from 200 kW of the rear-wheel drive version and 300 kW (402 horsepower) for the integral version, with a shot from 0 to 100 km / h covered respectively in 8.5 and 5.6 seconds.
Investment of one billion for the Emden factory
The new electric midsize sedan will be produced at the Emden plant in Germany, where Volkswagen has invested a billion in the production of electric cars. The factory currently hosts production of the Passat, which will be moved to Bratislava in Slovakia in 2023, where it will be built together with the Skoda Superb. As already mentioned, Volkswagen will only keep the Passat station wagon in Europe.
