Finding promising copper companies is possible, but it is anything but trivial for private investors. To make matters worse, in the case of copper mining stocks, it is not possible to do so via an ETF that could contain such companies. There are no copper mining ETFs that can be purchased by German investors in this country. This is due to the legal framework, which, among other things, requires a certain degree of diversification. A possible way out is an ETF or ETC based on the copper price itself. But such an investment, which is focused solely on one underlying asset, in this case the price of copper, is of course not risk-free. Currency shifts alone, such as a devaluation of the US dollar, can have significant negative consequences for euro investors.
