Windows 11 Microsoft Store abandoned HTML for a complete XAML experience-Windows 11

As part of the first Windows 11 preview, the new Microsoft Store is now available to Windows Insiders, allowing interested users to get a closer look at the new operating system, which will begin rolling out to mainstream users later this year. In this test plan, Microsoft stated that the Windows 11 store has been “redesigned from the ground up.”

The entire interface has been updated, the scrolling response speed is faster, and Microsoft has also added space for more content. Microsoft said that the simple reason for the user experience is that there are no HTML components anymore.

On Windows 10, the front end of the Microsoft Store is built with HTML/CSS (Web Components). For example, the product page is completely based on HTML, which greatly reduces the response speed, especially when the “Get” or “Install” button is clicked. The biggest problem with the current store is that it often does not work properly.

In Windows 11, Microsoft will replace the existing store with a new store, this store is written in XAML/C#, it is completely “UWP” form. This has significantly improved the performance of the store, and downloading software is no longer prone to errors.

Some sources who asked not to be named also confirmed that the download speed of large games will be accelerated.

With Windows 11, Microsoft is also changing the business model of stores. The company hopes that all developers try their best to develop applications and games for its Microsoft Store application market. The store is more open to all applications and games, application developers can now use their own third-party business systems, and developers can retain 100% of their income.

Similarly, Microsoft will expand the store catalog by adding more applications and games created using different types of frameworks, and the current popular Microsoft software Teams and Visual Studio are expected to enter the store before the end of this year.

The new Microsoft Store has works from major companies such as Adobe, Zoom, OBS Studio and Canva, just to name a few.

Participants of the Windows Insider program can already download the newly designed Microsoft Store by manually updating the store using the old store application. Although the store has been redesigned, some functions such as the integration of Amazon App Store (Android apps) will come in the future.

The company also said that Windows 10 users will get the same store experience later this year, and store quality will be significantly improved in the coming months. For example, search results will no longer include low-quality guides/tutorials.
