ROME – Automation doesn’t just change the world of work, making low-profile jobs useless and creating new jobs for higher professional profiles. It also has an impact on people’s lives: a group of young Italian scholars from Bocconi, Cattolica and the University of Pittburgh investigated the consequences of the arrival of robots in manufacturing on the most disadvantaged workers, those who lose a secure job and find a very less attractive and more uncertain, like that of a cleaner or a waiter in a self service.
