ROME – Strategic alliances for the spread of electric mobility continue at full speed. The latest initiative concerns the partnership between Stellantis and TheF Charging which expand their public charging network with the agreement with the FS Italiane group through Metropark, a subsidiary that manages the parking lots in the major Italian railway stations. Thanks to this partnership, which also makes it possible to benefit from the intermodality between rail and road, the installation of 600 charging points for electric vehicles is planned in 50 Metropark car parks at stations throughout Italy.

The new alliance aims to facilitate and improve recharging operations for electric vehicle users, thanks to the capillarity of the network guaranteed by the presence of railway stations throughout the Italian territory. “This agreement supports our decarbonization strategy announced with the long-term strategic plan Dare Forward 2030 – underlined Anne-Lise Richard, global head of the e-Mobility business unit at Stellantis – In this context, the possibility of offering our customers public recharging and intermodal road / rail transport solutions will facilitate the spread of the Stellantis range of electric vehicles with a positive impact on the reduction of polluting emissions while protecting the environment “.

On the other hand, the railway stations are destined to represent a real nerve center in the context of future smart cities where they will increasingly play the role of intermodal hubs and poles of integration between people, means of transport and services. Furthermore, the sharing and analysis of data relating to the charging and movement habits of users will serve to create an ecosystem of innovative services modeled ad hoc on the real needs of users. The charging network will be available to all users of electric vehicles, will obviously reserve specific advantages for the owners of the models of the various brands of the Stellantis group and will be powered by completely renewable energy.
