TVB’s highly anticipated urban romance drama “After Marriage” is set to premiere on February 26. Produced by Lincoln and edited by Huang Bingyi, the series features a star-studded cast including Luo Ziyi, Chen Ziyao, Li Nuoyi, and Lai Weiling. The drama will air on TVB Jade Channel at 21:00 from Monday to Friday, with mainland audiences able to watch it on the Mi Dui Dui APP.
“After Marriage” is divided into four chapters: “divorce”, “infidelity”, “wrong love” and “repair”, delving into controversial topics in the realm of love and marriage. Chen Ziyao, who takes on her first female leading role in the series, shared how she was deeply moved by the script, even shedding tears and going through multiple boxes of tissues during the read-through. The challenging role required Chen Ziyao to showcase her acting skills and physical strength as she portrayed a character spanning nearly thirty years in age.
Speaking about her co-star Luo Ziyi, Chen Ziyao expressed excitement about their collaboration, having previously worked together on “The Man Who Wanted Home”. Luo Ziyi also shared her enthusiasm for the project, noting the challenge of portraying a restrained and slightly negative character, unlike her usual positive roles.
Producer Lincoln, known for his expertise in urban love stories, aims to capture the reality of marriage and love in “After Marriage”. His previous work “Hong Kong Love Story” earned accolades and awards, setting high expectations for this new series. Through the experiences of diverse characters, the drama explores the intricacies of marriage, from its inception to breakdown and potential revival, offering an intimate portrayal of Hong Kong marriage stories.
