Today the Government formalized two new additions in the economic area, with the appointment of Sebastian Sanchez Sarmiento on the Board of Directors of the Central Bank and Juan Manuel Garzón as Undersecretary of Economic Programming.
The measures were established through decrees 114/2024 and 113/204, respectively, both published in the Official Gazette.
Juan Manuel Garzón from Córdoba is degree in economics from the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of Córdoba and Master in Economics from the Center for Macro Economic Studies (CEMA). But his main participation in the public agenda is as chief economist of the Institute for Studies on Argentine and Latin American Reality (IERAL) of the Mediterranean Foundation.
Likewise, he is the author of numerous scientific and academic publications. He was the Outstanding Young Award from the Stock Exchange in 2005. His specialty is in Taxation and Financial and Tax Law.
In his new role he will work within the Economic Policy Secretariat, headed by Joaquín Cottani.
For his part, Sánchez Sarmiento has a degree in Business Administration and in private activity he worked at the cable TV operator Cablevisión, as well as at Autopistas del Sol (Ausol).
In this way, he will become a new member of a Board chaired by Santiago Bausili and also integrated by Vladimir Werning, Alejandrol Lew, Juan Curutchet, Nicolás Ferro, Marcelo Griffi, Pedro Inchauspe, Agustín Pesce and Silvina Rivarola.
