Apple today launched a new version of iMovie with several new features that make it easier for users to create beautifully crafted videos on iPhone and iPad. Storyboard features include preset templates for DIY tutorials, cooking tutorials, product reviews, science experiments, and many more video types. For users who need to create videos quickly, the Magic Movie function can automatically add transitions, special effects and music based on the video clips and photos selected by the user, and instantly generate a beautifully produced video. Both new features include a variety of video styles to help users create a more personalized look and feel for videos with consistent titles, filters, transitions, tones, and music.

The storyboard function allows users to start smoothly in the video creation process, helping novice creators to learn video editing and improve video storytelling skills. Instead of facing a blank timeline, creators can choose from one of 20 preset storyboards. These preset templates include popular video types such as cooking tutorials, quizzes, product reviews, newscasts, and more. Each storyboard includes a list of shots that are arranged in different ways to tell a specific story. Each preset shot in the template includes a thumbnail with an explanation, and a small prompt to ask questions or make suggestions to help users make more lively and interesting shots. Users are also free to add, re-record, or delete shots from the storyboard as needed.
Creators can experiment with different video styles that include titles, transitions, title layouts, fonts, filters, tones, and more. The music automatically adjusts dynamically to fit the length of the movie. Users also have access to easy-to-use editing tools such as trim, split, shot speed, and shot volume to make every shot even more beautiful.
Movies created by users with the help of storyboards can be easily shared in iMovie via messages, emails or major social media platforms.
Instantly generate video from magic movie
With the Magic Movie feature, users can create beautifully stylized movies with titles, transitions, music and more with just a few clicks. To create a magic movie, users only need to select an album, or choose photos or images from the library, and the magic movie function will immediately identify the essence of the material and automatically generate a movie. Creators can rearrange or delete shots from Magic Movie’s short list of shots, edit the video further, easily add personal touches to Magic Movie, and add video styles to enhance the look and feel of the entire movie. Like Storyboard Videos, Magic Movies can be shared in iMovie via message, email, or social media.
