Nominations for the Primetime Emmy Awards 2021 are public, and TV shows on streaming platforms have appeared on the lists as usual, but two new names have appeared in the comedy category. Apple TV+’s “Football Coach” (Ted Lasso), HBO Max’s “Desperate Writer” (Hacks) and “Flight Attendant” (The Flight Attendant) will all represent their respective platforms to compete for the best comedy award for the first time. Also includes Netflix’s “Cobra Kai”, “Emily In Paris” (Emily In Paris), “The Kominsky Method” (The Kominsky Method), Hulu’s “Writing Youth” (Pen15), and The only piece from the traditional TV station ABC is “Black-ish”.
Nominations in the drama category are also occupied by streaming platforms, Netflix’s “The Crown” (The Crown), “Bridgerton” (Bridgerton), Disney+’s “The Mandalorian” (The Mandalorian), Amazon Prime Video’s ” “The Boys” (The Boys), Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” (The Handmaid’s Tale), which won the award in the first quarter, followed by HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” (Lovecraft Country), FX’s ” Pose and NBC’s This Is Us.
In terms of the number of nominations for individual works, both “The Crown” and “The Mandalorian” received the most 24 nominations, followed by 23 nominations, Disney+’s “Wanda and Vision”, of which Elizabeth Olsen would even be better. Contend for the best actress in the Scarlet Witch.
In total, the HBO / HBO Max series received a total of 130 nominations. Netflix only received one less, 129, and Disney+, the “two-year student,” also had 71. This all means that American audiences not only agree with the works of the streaming platform, but even industry insiders have also given a lot of recognition.
What is more surprising is that the emerging short film platform Quibi has 8 nominations, and Facebook also has a total of 3 nominations under the name of Oculus and Facebook Watch.
