Athletes from municipal clubs will receive free mouthguards

Through the El Deporte Sonríe program, the Municipality of Córdoba will produce and distribute mouth guards among young people who practice sports in clubs and sports centers run by the local State.

The announcement of the program was led by Mayor Daniel Passerini at the Córdoba Municipality Club.

“We want this to be the first work experience. Surely we are going to reach all corners of the city: clubs, neighborhood centers and institutions where opportunities can be generated to be better,” said Passerini.

The community leader stated that this is a health policy, not only because it will allow the practice of sports without damaging the oral cavity and the prevention of injuries from an early age, but also because it creates opportunities for athletes to go to the dentist and take care of your teeth.

The protectors will be personalized and made through a printing sample. It is also an opportunity for them to have their mouths checked by a specialist in the matter.

These protectors are a shock-resistant surface and function as a protective element that distributes the force of a possible impact, minimizing the possibility of dental, gum, cheek and tongue trauma.

In the first instance, it will begin with federated athletes from the municipal clubs of Córdoba, over 16 years of age. For minors, an oral check will be carried out.

The policy is generated jointly by the Secretariats of Health, Neighborhood Strengthening and Sports, and Citizen Participation and Youth.
