From art to travel, from physical activity to university in every sector we are trying to get back to normal. Almost. With masks and safety distances, museums are also gradually proposing dates for vernissages, reopening of suspended exhibitions and appointments with culture. Among the next confirmations is the inauguration of the exhibition “Between Munari and Rodari“, In the Forum of Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, initiative proposed by the Organizing Committee for the celebrations ofRodarian Year, established by Libraries of Rome and in collaboration with Corraini Editions, with whom Bruno Munari has worked steadily over the years.
After sharing the theme in the virtual space in these months of lockdown, now the Palazzo delle Esposizioni finally reopens to the public who can admire this extraordinary project live, dedicated to two great protagonists of the twentieth century culture for children, open until 24 October , for a closing party with the double birthday of the two protagonists, close even on the day of their birth: Gianni Rodari would have turned 100 on 23 October, Bruno Munari 113 the day after.
The exhibition is intended as a tribute to the two artists and their meeting, human and intellectual, a sort of non-formal birthday present to two “scorpions”, as defined by the president of Libraries of Rome, Paolo Fallai, who “took the juggling of life very seriously. And by gently making us bleed, they tried to open up a path of freedom for us ». Ten panels, in a continuous game of references between images and words, offer the points in common between two unique protagonists of the Italian 20th century artistic panorama: creativity as divergent thought, the seriousness of the game, the power of estrangement.
The exhibition is completed by a dedicated section that proposes and tells the results of the Art Workshop that the Palazzo delle Esposizioni has addressed to families and teachers with the project Animated nursery rhymes, in these months of forced closure in which, in fact, the direct line with the public has never been interrupted, thanks to the initiative of Roma Capitale #laculturaincasa, sharing on the site and social channels of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni unpublished content and insights dedicated to Rodari and Munari, which can also be consulted after opening. In particular, the invitation to five illustrators and illustrators (Andrea Antinori, Marianna Coppo, Mariachiara Di Giorgio, Massimiliano Di Lauro and Alessandro Sanna) to interpret the nursery rhymes of the Omegna master with their own sign and to suggest original techniques and instruments to boys and girls. to make your own designs. On display, therefore, also the tables of the artists and their video-tutorials alongside the dozens of works made by the little ones.
