American singer Chiquis Rivera, also known as Janney Marín, has been dealing with a series of legal and family issues in recent months. A dispute with her grandfather, Pedro Rivera, has caused a rift between Chiquis and her siblings, as well as her late mother Jenni Rivera’s father.
The legal battle against Pedro Rivera, filed in September 2023, has now been joined by a new lawsuit. On September 20, a lawsuit was filed against Pedro’s company, Aquarius Ribbons, by Jenni Rivera Enterprises Inc. However, the accusation was dismissed on December 18 due to a lack of evidence.

Journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante has claimed that Jenni Rivera once expressed fear that Chiquis might try to harm her. Infante stated that he had seen conversations from 2012 that were “very strong,” and suggested that bringing these conversations to light could have a devastating impact on someone in the family.
The tragic death of Jenni Rivera in a plane accident in 2012 added a layer of complexity to the family’s already strained relationships. At the time of her death, Jenni was estranged from her daughter Chiquis.
